- Powder Coating

Why choose powder coating?

Powder coating is a metal finishing process that offers a far more superior finish than alternative finishes like paint. Powder coat offers greater durability, impact resistance, and improved wear characteristics in comparison to other finishing options. In addition to the improved durability, powder coating is offered in a great variety of finishes. Finishes include the basic gloss, semi-gloss, and flat finishes to unique texture, wrinkle, hammer tone, and candy finishes. There are thousands of colors available to choose from and if a specific color is needed then custom color matches can be made to match. Powder coating also provides quick turnaround times as once it is cooled back to room temperature it is ready for use. Feel free to call or email us to discuss your needs and the options available to you.

  • 1 Environmentally friendly

Powder coating is also much better for our environment than traditional painting. Liquid paints contain solvents know as VOC or volatile organic compounds which are a pollutant. Powder coating does not contain any solvents and does not release any VOC's into our atmosphere. Also any waste powder coat can be reclaimed and reused eliminating waste unlike in liquid painting. By having your items powder coated instead of painted you can help save our environment by supporting green technologies.

  • 2 What is the powder coating process?

Here at Elite Coatings we take great pride in providing quality coatings. In order to provide our customers with the best coatings possible all of the items are properly prepped for coating. All parts are first cleaned of contaminants and prepped for media blasting. All parts are then media blasted to remove any previous finishes and provide the best possible surface for coating adhesion. After blasting the part is examined and prepped for coating including taping and plugging where the customer does not want powder to be applied. We then apply the powder using our top of the line ITW Gema powder application gun and bake in our 8ft x 8ft x 17.5 ft oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for a full cure. Once the item is removed from the oven and cooled to room temperature it is ready for use. .
